Abstract

Mohyi al-Din expresses some unique ideas on Jesus and the nature of his prophethood: 1) the soul of Jesus existed for a thousand years before he was born 2) the followers of Trinity are in the wrong not because of they saw Jesus as the God, but because they saw only him and not the world of existence as the God 3) Jesus’s prophethood and Imamate is comprehensive and all-incopassing and he ended the period of servitude 4) prophethood and all what it takes is only and only for Jesus from the beginning to the end and 5) Jesus is the last in prophethood in the real sense of the term. The author of this work believes that some teachings in the works of ibn Arabi and his predecessors are influenced by Christianity. He also points to similar views in the works of on Christianity and Jesus, with the exception of beliefs in "Existential Unity" rather than "Intuitive Unity" for ibne Arabi. To discuss, the article draws on the descriptions of Jesus in the Bible, the Holy Quran, and some other texts on Christianity.
