Abstract
According to numerus Quranic Verses¡ Iblis(satan) snobbed and disobeyed God¡ s order of prostrating before Adam.Consequently¡ he was cursed by the Exalted God nonetheless¡ he was given permission to template and seduce God¡s servants until the Judgment Day. In accordance
with this principle¡ the mass of Muslims found him guilty¡ cursed him
continually¡ and sought refuge to God from his evil. But some outstrippers of
the Sufi School of Intoxication¡ Specially Hallaj¡ Eyn al-Ghozat¡ Ahmad Ghazali
drew an amorous visage for Iblis and considered his refusal to prostrate as a
result of his monotheistic amorous zeal. They also promoted him to the high
position of the lord of monotheists.
This article describes the twofold face of Iblis in Hakim Sanaei¡s speeches¡
and compares them with Quranic Verses¡ prophetic traditions¡ and the remarks
of mystics and the pioneers of important theological sects. It tries to
prove the claim that Hakim Sanaei¡s view regarding Iblis¡s faith or disbelief¡
compulsion or choice is too different from the view points of Asharites and
Mutazilites rather it is more similar to Murji¡ ites¡ view.
