The Relationship between the Last Prophet and God’s Word (Qur’an) according to Imām Khomeyni

Abstract

Imām Khomeyni like many other mystics demonstrates that the existence of the Last Prophet (Mohammad) as the first theophany in the world of pluralities has both genitive and substitutive supremacy over the whole cosmos and finally is the key and the foundation of all cosmos. Thus he (the Prophet, i.e. his Idea) has the Manifesto-Final aspect of the Qur’an, either for its heavenly, Unmanifistated Qur’anic aspect or its earthly, Manifistated Furqāni aspect. As a result the Prophet is the great gravity, but in a comparison between the Qur’an and the physical body of the Prophet and his Household regardless their unitive stage, the Qur’an is the great gravity. But according to a precise idea, due to the continual unity and connection between the self and flesh of the Perfect Saint (the flesh which is by itself the reductive aspect of celestial self), his pure existence is nowhere subject to holy Qur’an.
