Abstract

Mystical literature is considered one of the rich and attractive and at the same time, challenging literary genres, and poets such as Sanā'ī, Aṭṭār and Mevlana are considered to be its leaders. One of the questions that comes to mind after a century since the birth of new poetry, is that what fate has this huge capital had in new poetry. In order to answer this question, it is necessary to examine what evidences there are of mystical themes or something similar in the new poetry; and Poets who, on the one hand, have the heritage of several centuries of mystical literature, and on the other hand, have lived in the contemporary century and in the atmosphere of modernity, how have they faced mysticism?. By examining the line of mysticism in the works of some famous modernist poets who belong to various schools of thought, it is clear that they not only with an indirect and passive approach, have used the mystical treasure of the past to create themes and create beauty, but also with a direct and creative approach, they have not neglected the creation of mystical themes with modern language coordinates. The creation of pseudo-mystical expressions, the epistemological approach in religious and Quranic themes, the description of true love and the mystical thought of death that culminates in the consecration of martyrs, together with the expression of themes that are similar to experience, revelation, anecdote, ascension, and prayers, in a mystical form, are some of examples of innovations of modern poets. Sometimes these poets, with an approach similar to the mystics of the past, have entered into some controversial actions, such as criticizing philosophers and expressing sarcastic expressions.
