Abstract
Concepts for it in ancient Sufism texts. Being aware of the “Owqat” )plural of Vaqt) and understanding the conditions of the Vaqt is considered one of the distinctive characteristics of a Sufi. This study shows that most of the definitions of the term " Vaqt " are consistent with the concepts and principles of mindfulness, which is a new approach in psychology. In mindfulness, using eastern traditions, especially Buddha's teachings, an effort is made to create a balance in a person's life, and a person relies on the present time and awareness to witness his mental and physical events, in order to accurately identify the emotions he experiences. By accepting them, experience a better and healthier life.
In the present article, an attempt has been made to answer the question, which definitions of the term "Vaqt " in mysticism correspond to the principles and concepts of mindfulness? The results of the research show that most of the concepts and principles raised in mindfulness such as: emphasis on the present, being aware of the feelings that a person experiences at the moment, becoming one with the whole being, surrendering, accepting and letting go are consistent with the definitions of Vaqt in mysticism.
