Abstract
Ascetic mysticism and romantic mysticism are two undeniable approaches that have occupied two different periods in the history of mysticism. Mentioning the factors that cause mysticism to transition from ascetic to romantic, through the visible and hidden angles of the thoughts of these two approaches throughout history under the headings of inner mysticism and outer mysticism (attitude and non-attitude), and with the aim of better understanding the factors of this transition, is a mission that the present study has undertaken to investigate using a combined (descriptive/analytical) method. This study explains each of the factors of the transition to inner mysticism and outer mysticism by dividing them into categories, and enumerates the internal factors of mysticism, which are not limited to, under headings such as the clarity of the position of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the heavy entry of literature, strategic interpretations, and breaking the rules. Finally, by looking at the external mystical factors, it mentions the results of political and cultural developments and their impact on this transition.
