Abstract

The Arafat Prayer, as one of the mystical treasures and popular prayers, is the prayer of Hazrat Sayyid al-Shuhada (AS) in the desert of Arafat. Gratitude, as one of the most important factors of spiritual growth, revives the spirit of gratitude for every blessing. This research aims to present a behavioral model of the mystical and romantic discourse of Imam Hussein's (AS) Arafat Prayer in the form of gratitude using the method of grounded theory and qualitative analysis and collecting information from reliable historical sources, especially the interpretation of the prayer by Allama Ja'fari (RA). The findings showed that in the Arafat Prayer, the concept of "mystical gratitude", meaning conscious gratitude, is repeated in 35 passages of the prayer. (18 explicit times, 17 implicit times). This repetition expresses the axis of mystical gratitude in this prayer and its importance for approaching God. The results indicate that gratitude in this prayer is not only an individual and devotional act, but also considered as a comprehensive strategy for achieving human perfection and approaching God. This model includes important components such as repentance, contentment, faith, certainty, trust, sincerity, knowledge, and monotheism, each of which refers to a specific stage in mystical conduct and, with a guiding attitude, lays the groundwork for the spiritual and moral excellence of individuals in redefining and explaining the values of contemporary man and is a practical model to be used in the daily lives of individuals.
